Wax/Resin ribbons

Specific applications


Wax / Resin RibbonsPremium wax/resin hybrid ribbons are used for more specific applications, including shelf and bin, textile, clothing, nursery and lumber labels, where a higher level of scratch and smear and/or mild chemical resistance is required.  These ribbons are a hybrid mix or wax and resin and may contain an extra “layer” to help the ink transfer. The manufacturing and chemical processes are more complex.

Advantages:

  • Prints on a broad range of materials
  • Suitable for high gloss paper materials and matt finished synthetic materials
  • Greater smudge and scratch resistance than wax
    Mild solvent resistance

Applications:

  • Improved image durability for multiple scans, rough handling and abrasion
  • Mild solvent resistance if potential contact
  • Wax won’t mark or print on stock
  • Outdoor exposure
  • Suitable for coated paper and matt finished synthetic materials
