General purpose applications


Wax RibbonsThe most economical choice for general purpose tag and labelling applications, including shipping, receiving, compliance labels, bin labels, and retail tags.  These thermal transfer ribbons are the most popular and the easiest to produce. The majority of ink layer is wax but may contain some resin. Wax is absorbed into the substrate surface, which means the more porous substrates work best.

  • Works well on matt paper,  face stocks and low end synthetics

Applications:

  • Short life applications
  • Few scans, as does not render long term durability
  • Price sensitive marketing and ID
  • Suitable for uncoated paper, coated paper, such as thermal transfer materials
